Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Communication to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has expressed firm optimism that the president will secure re-election in 2027, citing the administration’s bold reforms and sector-wide policies.

Speaking during an appearance on the Mic On podcast on Saturday, Dare argued that while reforms take time to yield visible results, the groundwork laid by Tinubu’s government is already reshaping key areas of Nigeria’s economy.

“Policies take time. Top economic experts say it takes four to six years before you begin to see the results,” Dare said. “But when you consider the number of policies already rolled out across the oil, education, and health sectors, you’ll see that progress is underway.”

He pointed to what he described as strategic alignment across multiple sectors, emphasizing that the president is confronting systemic issues head-on, unlike past administrations that chose to delay or ignore tough reforms.

“We have a president who understands that this giant called Nigeria has been punching below its weight,” Dare said. “He is now waking up critical sectors that were left dormant for years. He has started to interrogate the ‘devils’ that have held this country back.”

Dare maintained that with continued policy consistency and political will, President Tinubu’s administration will earn the trust and votes of Nigerians in the 2027 general elections.

His comments come amid mixed public reactions to ongoing economic reforms, including fuel subsidy removal and currency unification, which have sparked both support and criticism.

Despite the challenges, Dare insisted that “development is unfolding”, and the president remains committed to steering Nigeria toward long-term stability and prosperity.
