Gov Kefas warns Traditional Rulers Against issuance of undeserving Traditional titles

The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas has presented staff of office to 2 new third class traditional rulers warning all traditional rulers in the state to exercise caution in the issuance of traditional titles as those undeserving will be revoked.

The Governor who sounded the warning  at the Exco Chamber TY Danjuma House Jalingo while presenting the staff of office to the third class Chiefs Kun Cio Ando-Idi Manu Wunuken Emmanuel Masa Ibi and the Gara Chanchanji Umaru Kubyera maintained that traditional titles should be based on track record of excellence and not for political purposes.

 Dr Agbu Kefas noted that his Administration will continue to strengthen the traditional institutions and fill the gap where necessary.

He said their selections were purely done by the people and not the Government and urged them to prioritize peace and ensure that criminal elements do not have a place in their domains.

He emphasized the need for the traditional rulers to stay in their domains with their people to serve them better.

In his vote of thanks on behalf of his colleague, the Chief of Ando Idi, His Royal Highness Manu Wunuken Emmanuel Masa Ibi expressed gratitude to the Governor for the confidence reposed in them.

He assured the Governor of their unflinching loyalty and cooperation for the peace of their domains and the progress of the State.

Taraba State Chief Judge Justice Filibus Joel Agya administered the Oath of Office and Allegiance to the new Chiefs.
