Adamawa Approves 9.8b For More Township Roads

The Adamawa State Executive Council at its third 2022 meeting has approved N9.8b for the construction of ten lots of township roads in the state.

Similarly, the council had also approved over N299m for procurement of liquid organic fertilizer for 2022 wet and dry season farming.

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Dr. Umar Garba Pella disclosed this to newsmen shortly after the council meeting that held in the Council Chambers Government House, Yola Thursday.

Dr. Pella said the township roads approved by the council include that of Mubi South spanning two point four two kilometers at the cost of over N980m.

Others were Demsa township road; four point eight kilometers at the cost of  N1.4b, Lamurde; at over N752m and Guyuk phase two costing N1.6b.

Also included according to the Commissioner, construction of road within and around Ribadu Square as well Gashaka street in Jimeta; two point six four kilometers at N1.1b.

He further said there is also construction of road at Jimeta abattoir; zero point sixt five kilometers at over N200m and Bekaji road at N1.7b.

Others were dualization of Ahmadu Bello way in Jimeta at over N820m  and extension of Philip Marken road; one point seven six kilometers costing over N982m.

He said there is also construction of embankment protection of Chochi bridge in Yola South at over N115m adding however that all the contracts were awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited and two others.

On the approval for procurement of liquid fertilizer, the Commissioner of Information said the council took the decision to make the commodity accessible and available to farmers across the state at subsidized rate.

He added that the decision was to cushion the hardships of farmers in accessing solid fertilizer since after banning its application by the federal government in Adamawa, Borno, Gombe and Yobe states due to security reasons.

The meeting attended by Secretary to the State Government SSG Malam Bashiru Ahmad and other council members was presided over by Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth.
