The appointment of Dr. Mohammed Goje as Acting Secretary to the Yobe State Government (SSG) has continued to attract widespread support from political, religious, and administrative stakeholders across the state, in what observers describe as one of the most broadly welcomed appointments under the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Since his appointment, delegations from different groups and institutions have paid solidarity visits to the Acting SSG, commending Governor Buni for what many described as a strategic decision aimed at strengthening governance coordination and inclusiveness.

Among the groups that publicly endorsed the appointment is the Yobe State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). During a visit to Dr. Goje’s office in Damaturu, the state CAN Chairman, Rev. Musa Ibrahim Dinga, described the appointment as timely and well-deserved.

He said Dr. Goje had built a reputation for humility, openness, and a people-centred leadership style that transcends religious and political divides.

The delegation included representatives from the six geopolitical zones of the state, alongside youth and women leaders within the association.

Also speaking during the visit, Emmanuel Ayuba Degubi, the Yobe State focal person to the governor, said the appointment reflected confidence in Dr. Goje’s administrative capacity and leadership experience. He expressed optimism that the new Acting SSG would strengthen policy coordination and governance delivery across the state.

In a separate engagement, Yobe State commissioners also visited Dr. Goje to pledge cooperation and institutional synergy in the implementation of government programmes and policies.

The commissioners described effective collaboration among ministries, departments, and agencies as essential to improving public service delivery and sustaining the administration’s development agenda.

Responding to the visits, Dr. Goje thanked the delegations for their support and assured them of his commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and effective service. He emphasised the importance of teamwork and mutual understanding in governance and pledged continued support for Governor Buni’s policies and programmes.

Political observers in the state say the largely positive reception to Dr. Goje’s appointment reflects growing public confidence in a younger generation of leaders perceived as energetic, accessible, and capable of bridging political and social divides.
