Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded another major breakthrough in the ongoing counter-terrorism operations across Borno State, rescuing 86 kidnapped victims and arresting 29 logistics suppliers linked to Boko Haram and ISWAP.

According to a statement issued by Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North East, the operation was conducted on 9 November 2025 by troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion under Sector 2, OPHK.

The statement revealed that troops intercepted the terrorists while they were abducting civilians and vehicles along the Buratai–Kamuya Road. The soldiers engaged the insurgents in a fierce battle, pursued them toward Mangari, and overpowered them near their camp, forcing them to flee in disarray.

A subsequent search and clearance operation led to the rescue of 86 captives, including men, women, and children, and the destruction of 11 makeshift terrorist structures.

Recovered items included one AK-47 rifle, five magazines with 73 rounds of ammunition, four PKT belts, five civilian vehicles, five motorcycles, eight bicycles, and two logistics tricycles.

In a separate operation, troops deployed at Mangada arrested 29 suspected logistics suppliers en route to Chilaria, with two pickup vans and a tricycle loaded with 1,000 litres of petrol, engine oil, gun truck tyres, medical consumables, and large quantities of food items.

The military confirmed that no casualties were recorded among troops during the operation.

The Military High Command commended the gallantry and professionalism of the troops and urged all formations under Operation HADIN KAI to sustain their offensive operations to deny terrorists freedom of action across the North East.
