Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the creation of a dedicated Industrial Hub Management Unit to enhance trade, attract investment, and strengthen industrial activity in the state.

Located in Maiduguri, the Borno State Industrial Hub is a multi-purpose complex designed to power economic growth through diverse processing and manufacturing operations.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Bukar Tijani, the governor’s approval reaffirms his commitment to improving the Hub’s efficiency and unlocking its full potential as an investment magnet.

“The establishment of this dedicated management unit will strengthen the operations of the Industrial Hub, improve efficiency, and attract more investment into the State,” Tijani said.

The Hub currently houses production lines for solar panels, waste recycling, and food processing—covering tomato, cassava, ginger, and onion—alongside manufacturing plants for corn chips, biscuits, and school furniture.

Since its commissioning, the facility has shown strong potential to revitalize local industry, create jobs, and boost industrial self-reliance.

To spearhead the initiative, Governor Zulum appointed Engr. Bukar Kolomi, his Senior Technical Assistant, as the Industrial Hub Manager. Kolomi brings extensive experience in engineering and industrial administration to the role.

The new management unit will operate under the Ministry of Trade, Investment, and Tourism to ensure smooth coordination and sustained growth.
