Engr. Mohammed Wasada, the commission’s coordinator in the state, stated that the program aims to alleviate temporary economic hardships faced during Ramadan fasting.

Apart from aiding 426 households, which is about 2, 556 individuals, the initiative also extends support to 106 clubs and associations.

The distributed items include 2,556 bags of rice, 5,323 units of sugar, 15,179 packets of spaghetti, and 7,687 units of 5kg essentials.

The beneficiaries include vulnerable groups such as individuals with disabilities, orphans, widows, and the less privileged across Borno’s 27 local government areas.

The state coordinator urged beneficiaries, especially those representing groups, to ensure widespread distribution of the assistance.

‘We have food and non-food items, and this consists of rice, spaghetti, vegetable oil,l and sugar, for the food items category; while the NFI consists of mats, blankets, and different kinds of fabrics for men and women,’ the state coordinator explained.
