Fatal accident claims 40 lives in Yobe

A fatal accident in Yobe State has claimed not less than 40 lives.

The accident occurred along Nangere, a local government area in the state.

Sources and eyewitnesses told our correspondent that the accident happened today when a trailer loaded with cattle from Buduwa Village, a few kilometers from the local government rammed into another vehicle.

‘The trailer was over speeding and lost control and hit another car which is Canter model and crushed over 20 people and injured many,’ a source, Mallam Barde, said.

Another source said that the trailer also crushed victims that fell from the car which led to an unidentified number of deaths and many sustained degrees of injury.

However, the development was also reported on Facebook by a user Muhammad Bala Sale who confirmed the number of dead bodies to have reached 50 in number, as at the time of press.
