SEMA to Train 80 Youths in Potiskum on Vocational Skills

Yobe State Emergency Management YOSEMA flags off training of 80 Youths on Vocational Skills across 4 Trades in Potiskum local government in partnership with UNDP early recovery project.

In a statement obtained by MAIDAWAAREWA. The trainees for the program are 49 Females and 1 Disable, 29 Males and 1 Disable.


Dr. Mohammed Goje, YOSEMA boss disclose the development and said, “the trades include Cosmetology, Shoe Crafting, Computer Operation and Tailoring.”

Goje added that the beneficiaries will be trained by well known facilitators, such as Aisha Abubakar Ade Globally recognised UN facilitator, Maryam Mohammed Umar PhD candidate and renowned Shoe designer, Abubakar Ibrahim (Tailoring), Aliyu Abubakar & Abdullahi Ali Abdullahi (From UK Computer Academy) and Hauwa Umar Yahaya (Cosmetics/Make-up).

At the end of the 2 months, trained beneficiaries will be well equipped with Startup packs to enable them sustain the skill and have means of livelihood. Also, similar training will be conducted in Nangere LGA, Goje added.
