Goje was first appointed by Governor Buni in 2019, shortly after his swearing-in as governor of the state.

During his activities in the agency, Dr. Goje, a veterinary doctor had been a key figure in Yobe State government.

This is due to the incessant disaster and humanitarian crisis in the state.

Flooding, fire incidents and insurgents’ activities have been a recurrent issue in Yobe, making YOSEMA one of the most active government institutions in the state for its response to such incidents.

As the raining season sets in and several warnings by Nigerian Meteorological Agency against flood this year, Goje, among other things, would be faced with continues responses to flood victims across parts of state.

Yobe was among the most hit state by natural disasters in Nigeria in previous years.

Similarly, Chiroma Buba Mashio, has been elected as speaker of the 8th assembly of Yobe State.

He was elected by other lawmakers during a plenary on Monday.
