UNIMAID announces shutdown of ALL activities from Feb. 22

Following directives by the National University Commission last to suspend activities across universities in the country till after the 2023 Elections, the management of the University of Maiduguri has issued a circular to the effect.

NUC said the closure is to forestall any possibility of violence on students and school facilities in the course of the election.

Alhaji Ahmad Lawan, the registrar of the university announced that the management is in receipt of the NUC’s directive in a statement today.

Mr. Lawan said ‘the university had held a special meeting Tuesday, received and considered the ministerial directives from the universities commission on the closure of all federal universities and inter University centres.’

The management resolved to shut all activities from February 22 to March 14, in line with the directives.

The school resumes March 15.
