Another round of violence has broken out between Fulani herders and the Bandawa community in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State, leaving two soldiers dead in the crossfire while attempting to restore peace.

The clash, which erupted in the early hours of Wednesday, has forced many residents to flee their homes, heightening calls for urgent security reinforcements and lasting dialogue between the warring groups.

This marks the third major crisis in recent times in Karim Lamido, an area with a long history of communal conflicts dating back to 1996, involving Fulani, Karimjo, Ko’de, Wurkum, and other ethnic groups.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Taraba State Police Command, James Lasen, said security operatives have been deployed to the affected communities to contain the violence and prevent further escalation.
