As Muslim faithful across Yobe State prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Adha, the Yobe State Police Command has rolled out comprehensive security measures to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration across the state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, psc, fdc, convened a high-level security conference in Damaturu with all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Tactical Commanders, Heads of Departments, and members of the Command’s management team. The meeting focused on strengthening operational readiness and enhancing community collaboration in maintaining peace and order throughout the festive period.
During the conference, CP Ado reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to working closely with residents to preserve the existing peace and security in the state. He called on the public to use the occasion of Eid to pray for continued success in the fight against crime and insurgency.
Security Tips for a Safe Eid Celebration:
- Motorists and road users are urged to drive responsibly and avoid reckless or dangerous driving that could lead to accidents or harm.
- Strict enforcement of law and order will be maintained. Individuals are strongly warned against carrying weapons or dangerous objects in public places, particularly at prayer grounds and recreational centers.
- Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or movement to the nearest police station or security outpost.
To further ensure safety, the police command has deployed personnel and surveillance assets to key locations, including Eid prayer grounds, recreational spots, and children’s play areas. Security agencies will remain on high alert throughout the celebrations to deter criminal activity and counter the spread of false or misleading information.
CP Ado extended his warmest greetings to the Muslim community and residents of Yobe State, wishing all a joyous and safe Eid celebration. He also expressed gratitude to the Yobe State Government for its consistent support to security agencies operating within the state.
