Special Taskforce intercepts 350 bags of illegal mined Solid Mineral in Taraba

The Special Taskforce Committee on illegal Mining in Taraba State has intercepted a trailer loaded with 350 bags of Iron Monoxide and arrested six persons in connection with the trailer in Garba Chede area of Bali Local Government. The Trailer, which is believed to have been loaded from Gashaka Local Government where the Gashaka-Gumti National Park is located.

Those arrested with the trailer are Usman Babandi, Husaini Ali 24 years and Iliya Aliyu 32 years  from Gombe State, Ibrahim Aliyu 27 years, Aminu Aliyu, as well as Mohammed Abubakar. from Taraba State

The suspects have since been arraigned before the Special Mobile Court on illegal Mining Sitting in Jalingo for trial.

The Chairman of the Special Taskforce and that of Special Mobile Court warned that there will be no hiding place for any criminally minded elements who are not ready to abide by the Executive Order issued by the Taraba State government suspending all Mining activities in the State emphasizing that they are determined in enforcing and prosecuting anyone caught violating the executive order.
